OutreachDavida Price
Davida Caldwell Price is a native of South Carolina and currently resides in Chapin, SC. She graduated from the University of South with the following degrees: Bachelors of Arts In Interdisciplinary Studies, Masters of Education in Educational Administration and Leadership and an Educational Specialist in Educational Leadership and Supervision. She started her career in education as an elementary school teacher in Richland Two. She began her administrative career in Richland Two and continued in Lexington Richland School District Five as a school administrator and is now at the district level serving as the Coordinator of Youth and Family Services. She works with families and their children birth to five to provide resources and opportunities to get them ready for school. She has served in many roles in SCECA from Vice President to Past President. She currently chairs the Outreach Commision. She serves as a board member on Richland County First Steps, a member of the Early Childhood Common Agenda group, a member of the Strengthening the Early Care Workforce Action Team and others. She has recently started a mission to volunteer at the local children’s hospital delivering books and toys to children twice a month. Her passion is serving others and especially families and children who are in need of support and resources to help get their children ready for school. One of her favorite quotes is by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. He said “ Life’s persistent and most urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?” | MembershipAshley RiddleAshley Riddle has been working in early childhood for over 14 years. She holds an ECD credential from Tri-County Technical College, and is the Director at Clemson Creative Preschool in Clemson, SC. She has served as Presidentand Treasurer of District 5 and Secretary, Vice President, Parliamentarian on the SCECA Board. Ashley has served as the SC Endeavors Liaison for the Conference Planning Committee for the last few years. Ashley resides in Six Mile with her husband, Dean, and their four children: Austin, Amber, Braxton and Sylas. In her free time you can find her soaking up the sun on Lake Keowee, cooking up a new recipe she found online, lost in a good book, or off on an adventure. CommunicationsTammy Compton Tammy Compton is the Quality Counts Program Director in Spartanburg County. She holds a BA in Sociology from Furman University, a Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of South Carolina. She began her career in the sales field with Proctor & Gamble. Upon becoming a mom, I left and opened my own child care center. During my 25 years as a child care owner/director, our center achieved A+ status with the Program and a 5 Star rating in Quality Counts. She has been recognized by SCECA with the “Saundra Ground Education Award” for promoting higher education for child care providers.In her spare time, she coaches varsity girls basketball at Landrum High School and loves spending time with her grandchildren. She earned her Ph.D. in Teacher Education and Teacher Development from Montclair State University. Her professional background includes early childhood special education classroom teacher, parent educator, provider of professional development to the early care and education workforce, and instructor in higher education at the undergraduate and graduate level. Student GroupsShequita Phillips
Shequita Phillips is the Student Groups Chair. She has two kids of her own, one girl and one boy. She has worked with children for 10+ years.She holds an associate’s degree in early childhood education. She has also worked with students with special needs from infants to elementary school level. Currently she work sat an elementary school as the Student Information Operator. Within SCECA, she has been the District I President and served as the Chairman of the Outreach Commission. She is currently the Treasurer for District I and serves as the Chair of the Student Group Advisor’s Committee on the State level. | AwardsFedrick CohensFedrick Cohens is the Director of Early Childhood Programs with the Georgetown County School District. He has served as President of District 2 and is currently serving as the Treasurer. He has served on the Executive and State Boards since 2019. He remains the Awards Chair again this year. |
