Shequita Phillips


My name is Shequita Phillips. I am from Summerville, SC. I am married and have two children. I have an associate degree in early childhood education from Trident Technical College. I have worked in a child care center for just under 5 years. I am currently working at an elementary school as a resource assistant.

I am the Outreach Chairperson and also the Room Monitor Chair for the annual conference.

Brandy Wix


Brandy is the current SCECA Vice President and the 2025 Conference Chair. She has a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and is certified in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. She is a pre-kindergarten teacher at Laurens Elementary School in Laurens County.

"Every day is a new learning experience for children. Help them embrace their learning by leading and showing them how to utilize all the information they have learned into everyday life skills and practices."

Dr. Mary Williams


Dr. Mary Williams is a native of Orangeburg, SC. She is currently employed in Orangeburg County School District as a Literacy Coach. Dr. Williams has 20 years in the education profession. She is a mother to two beautiful daughters and the NeeNee to one amazing granddaughter. Life has taught Mary that “A dream deferred isn’t a dream denied.”

Mary’s favorite mottoes are: “The difference between ordinary and extraordinary is a little extra.” and “With God ALL Things Are Possible.”

Dr. Kit Saizdel-LaMora


Dr. Saizdel-LaMora has been an educator for over 35 years. She earned her Ph.D. in Teacher Education and Teacher Development from Montclair State University. Her professional background includes early childhood special education classroom teacher, parent educator, provider of professional development to the early care and education workforce, and instructor in higher education at the undergraduate and graduate level. She is currently Assistant Professor of Early Childhood Education for the School of Education at Francis Marion University.
